I think the insulting would be good. It would make sense, she's insulted many a pirates in her day. And defeated many more. Maybe one of the 'Avena haters' found out she was working for the doctor and told the government. That would make more sense to how they found out she was working there. And as for pretending to take them hostage or getting caught.... I think caught would be fun, but taking hostage would work best because of the fact that she would not want to drag you two into this, and also it would mean she could work for Tray....
But it would also be interesting if they got caught and they were not able to prove that she was a pirate, causing them to have to let her go. But they don't take an eye off her... What do you guys think?

I like the idea, it combines both.
How about as the government soldiers storm Eliza's father's house Avena acts as if she has taken tray and Eliza as hostages as a means to get to the forest. The soldiers pursue them ultimately capturing them. But they only have the fact that she ran against avena and Tray vouches for her, saying he will take her under his wing and keep her out of trouble if they agree to drop the charge of resisting arrest. The soldiers still think Eliza and Tray were taken against their will, but since Avena is Tray's sister it makes sense that he would vouch for her even when she "threatened" his life.
What do you guys think?

I don't think we have much plotting to do. All we need to figure out is what will happen whent hey get captured, and how Tray manages to convince them to let Avena free with them.

Well, both of them have to say something. They wouldn't only take a statement form one person, and if one contradicted the other they would be able to keep them longer.... It would be interesting if Tray and Eliza were out in the same room, and Avena (because she was the suspected one was out in a different room. But because their minds work somewhat the same, she comes up a a story similar to Tray's. They had already questioned him and they know she was nowhere near him since they had captures them. Either they had concocted this plan before (not likely cause they were running, and there was no way they would know the govey was coming) Or their story was true. She knows her brother, or did, she's pretty sure he would come up with something like this.
Tray and Aliza could talk about it and tell the same story, with slight variances. They could only hope Avena would say something similar.
